Nadine Angerer was voted best goalkeeper of the tournament; she saved a penalty from Marta (Brazilians never seem to have a surname, I wonder why). The team did not concede a single goal throught the World Cup.
It's also the first time a team has ever defended their title. Germany won the Cup in the USA in 2003.
